Ways to "Mix it Up"

Dear Kimberly,


I’ve been taking cycling forever and really want to branch out into something new. I’m looking for a class that also gives me a great heart-rate training workout (moving me up and down between heart rate zones), but I’d love to get myself off the bike at least once or twice a week. Any ideas?

Dear Sharon,


I am so glad you reached out because what you bring up is a huge challenge for many of us; we find ourselves in such routines, doing the same thing over and over again. There are so many benefits to cross training; so, good for you for wanting to mix it up a bit! The great news is that we have a great menu of cardio classes for you. I would suggest jumping into Cardio Kickboxing, The Mixx or No Limits Cardio to get your cardio fix. I’m also thinking that, if you primarily cycle, you may not be as focused on muscular endurance training, which is so important! So, I would also suggest a couple classes from our Cardio/Strength category – Total Conditioning, Strike! or CRT. These classes will give you the great heart rate training you desire while strengthening the rest of the major muscle groups. With all we have to offer, branch out when ready!
